Women want social outlets and support during all stages of life. Calvary Church offers places to befriend other Moms, and many Bible studies to help all women grow in faith. Whether you have a favorite Bible study writer or prefer video teaching, there are study options for you. (Of course you’re ultimately a fan of Jesus… those teachers are just His messengers.)

Acts Part 1—Jesus’ Witnesses, Empowered by His Spirit

Study by Precept
Tuesdays, September 17–November 19 / 9:30-11:30am
Roseville Campus / Room 114

Luke’s first account was his Gospel in which he recorded all that Jesus began to do and teach. In his second account, Acts, Luke records what happened after Jesus’ ascension to the Father when He sent the Holy Spirit to empower the apostles to testify to the power of God in salvation. Learn how God spread the gospel through witnesses of Jesus’ death and resurrection, and how you can witness to others. Stand in awe of the power of God in believers to endure persecution and suffering for the cause of Christ and embrace His power in your life. Be encouraged by faithful servants holding forth truth in a dark world, and watch as the church of Christ grows from a handful to a multitude, crossing cultures and countries.

Ephesians

Study by Tom Wright
Tuesdays, September 17–November 19 / 9:30-11:30am
Roseville Campus / Room 113

Have you noticed how sometimes you have a story in the back of your mind that keeps coming up, even when you are talking about something else? As Paul writes this letter to the church at Ephesus, he cannot contain his joy and amazement in the larger story of God’s plan to save us through Jesus the Messiah. These eleven studies will help us see the significance of our role in God’s grand narrative, and encourage us to live more fully as people who are lavishly loved by God.

Moms Connect

Find your support for parenting beyond preschool. Moms Connect encourages women in parenting kids through school years and beyond. Mentor Moms are sprinkled throughout the discussion groups to help with perspective on parenting as they bring the wisdom that comes with experience. This group is open to women outside of Calvary Church as well!

The morning is usually structured with small group discussion time, and large group learning via video, panel discussion, or live teaching. Sometimes the morning focus is a community service project. The point is to connect with other mothers and grow in a community in a variety of ways. And of course, there will be food—because where there are women, there will be treats.

2019-2020 Book Topics

Join us this fall for a series based on a few of our favorite books. The topics will focus on personal spiritual development and soul care, with relevant parenting implications. We will utilize guest speakers, live panels, radio and video interviews of authors to explore the content of each book. It isn’t necessary to have read the material to benefit but we’re guessing you’ll want to pick up a copy after you are introduced to each! If you want to take advantage of that Amazon Prime membership and grab the books early, here’s the list of the books to be discussed:

  • The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron & Suzanne Stabile
  • Gist: The Essence of Raising Life-Ready Kids by Michael Anderson, LP and Timothy Johanson, MD
  • Triggers: Exchanging Parents’ Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses by Amber Lia and Wendy Speake
