Women want social outlets and support during all stages of life. Calvary Church offers places to befriend other Moms, and many Bible studies to help all women grow in faith. Whether you have a favorite Bible study writer or prefer video teaching, there are study options for you. (Of course you’re ultimately a fan of Jesus… those teachers are just his messengers.)

Be Compassionate

Study by Warren Wiersbe
Tuesdays, January 21- April 7 / 9:30-11:30am
Roseville Campus / Room 114

The life and ministry of Christ was marked by his overwhelming compassion for people. And his heart is the same today. As believers, we are called to be the hands and feet of Christ, and extend his extravagant love to a broken world. Based on Luke 1-13, this study examines the very heartbeat of our Savior, and explores how Jesus connected with hurting people in an authentic and powerful way. This study—part of Dr. Warren Wiersbe’s best-selling “BE” commentary series—is filled with moving examples of Christ’s ministry to people of all backgrounds, cultures, and beliefs. It will inspire you to share his love with the world around you.

Pursuing God

Study by Margaret Feinberg
Tuesdays, January 21-April 7 / 9:30-11:30am
Roseville Campus / Atrium (Room 112)

From the Bible’s opening scene of God walking in the garden with humanity to Jesus hunched in prayer in the Garden of Gethsemane, this 12-week video Bible study will awaken you to the Lord’s beauty and love in a fresh way. In the first half of the study, participants examine six stories in Genesis that show how we are meant to experience God’s love and become expressions of that love in the world. In the second half of the study, participants will look at six stories in the Gospel of John that illustrate how God’s beauty is present in our lives so that we might discover more about his character and work.

Fight Back with Joy

Study by Margaret Feinberg
Mondays, March 23-May 11
/ 9:30-11:30am
No Bible study April 13.
White Bear Campus / Room 109

When study author Margaret Feinberg learned she had cancer, she knew she would need great strength to overcome it. She believed the weapon she selected for the battle would change everything. And she decided that weapon would be joy. Margaret shares her journey of using joy to fight fear, regret, and pain.

Through months of treatment, Margaret discovered that joy is a far more dynamic force than most of us realize. It has the power to reignite our passion for laughter and celebration. It can free us to rise above endless demands as we become more content and thankful. It can change unchangeable circumstances and bring a peace rooted in the remarkable love of God.

Whatever you face today, discover with Margaret how to embrace a way of living that’s deeper and fuller than you’ve ever known—a life radiant with joy.

Must register by March 9 to guarantee a book by the start of the study.

Moms Connect

Find your support for parenting beyond preschool. Moms Connect encourages women in parenting kids through school years and beyond. Mentor Moms are sprinkled throughout the discussion groups to help with perspective on parenting as they bring the wisdom that comes with experience. This group is open to women outside of Calvary Church as well!

The morning is usually structured with small group discussion time, and large group learning via video, panel discussion, or live teaching. Sometimes the morning focus is a community service project. The point is to connect with other mothers and grow in a community in a variety of ways. And of course, there will be food—because where there are women, there will be treats.

2019-2020 Book Topics

Join us this fall for a series based on a few of our favorite books. The topics will focus on personal spiritual development and soul care, with relevant parenting implications. We will utilize guest speakers, live panels, radio and video interviews of authors to explore the content of each book. It isn’t necessary to have read the material to benefit but we’re guessing you’ll want to pick up a copy after you are introduced to each! If you want to take advantage of that Amazon Prime membership and grab the books early, here’s the list of the books to be discussed:

  • The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery by Ian Morgan Cron & Suzanne Stabile
  • Gist: The Essence of Raising Life-Ready Kids by Michael Anderson, LP and Timothy Johanson, MD
  • Triggers: Exchanging Parents’ Angry Reactions for Gentle Biblical Responses by Amber Lia and Wendy Speake
